The 2015 Sierra’s Race Challenge is on!

It’s so much more than a cause–Sierra’s Race Against Meningitis is a race against a deadly disease. It is a race for awareness. It is a race for prevention. It is a race inspired by one, powerfully loving girl whose story has changed the lives of thousands.

And today we are calling all racers to the starting line.

Over 1.2 million people every year are disabled or killed by meningitis, a disease that is easily prevented by simple vaccinations. Our goal, partnered with you, your neighbors, your family, and your coworkers, is to bring that number down to zero. A big goal, we know. But we also know we can get there together, and this year, we’re going viral with a challenge to everyone we can reach: A Race.

We don’t care how you do it or who you do it with, just race. Get your little brother, your grandma, your best friend. Run the block, do a crab walk, eat a donut, shoot some baskets: just race. Race to win, to beat your friends, to beat your own time, to beat meningitis. Get it all on video and post it to Facebook and Twitter with #SierrasRace and challenge your friends to do the same.

With this year’s race, we have also launched our new website. Visit us at and learn more about the girl in whose memory, we are racing to change the world. See our videos, donate, and don’t forget to register to get your 2015 Sierra’s Race t-shirt and be entered to win prizes!

It’s time. The cameras are primed, the starting line is ready. Help us change the face of meningitis by raising awareness and saving lives.

On your marks. Get set.
